Liked it! It wasn't perfect, but the mood was right, and there were some emotional moments that I really loved.

OMG!squee over these parts:
1. Remus and Sirius at the Grimmauld Place dinner table, sitting together.

2. Remus holding Harry back after the veil. OMG, best part of movie, right there.

3. The Occulmency scenes with Snape. OK, so Alan Rickman can do whatever he wants with me. So, so sexy. Talking about pentrating Harry's mind. Killed me dead.

4. OK, so as much as I hate Harry/Ginny, I did like the "bitch, that's my man!" looks she shot Cho throughout the whole movie. And how completely clueless Harry was about it.

5. Did I mention Remus and Sirius at the dinner table?

6. Holy crap was Umbridge acted well. So sadistic, and we get to watch her ever so slowly decompensate throughout. Really lovely work.

7. Man, I love me some Bellatrix. Great work there. Can't wait to see more of her.

8. And Lucious. Yeah, I could hit that. Man, he is sexy.

9. I am a Luna convert. Didn't get her in the book, loved her in the movie. Loved her. I mean, I want to go read Luna fic now, and I don't read het or femmeslash.

10. The whole scene at the Ministry was good--damn near as good as I wanted it to be. The kids didn't do as much as I would have wanted, but overall, it was powerful. The fighting between Dumbledore and Voldemort was great.

OK, what I didn't love:
1. Not enough Draco again!!!!!!!!!!! Why do they leave my poor sweet Draco out like this? How will they have Harry properly obsessed with him in the next one if he barely sees him here? Sigh. Poor draco. Though Tom Felton looked better in this one, he seems to have grown into his face more.

2. Ron and Hermione don't get enough acting opportunity here. I mean, even for Rupert, who is not really known for his acting, there was not enough. They were fine with what they had, but I wanted more.

3. Neville didn't get the character development I wanted. He got some, but I wanted to see him strong by the end, not just magically, but emotionally.

4. Not enough Snape. I wanted more about his relationship with James, Sirius, and Lily. I think he is the best character in this whole damn thing, and I want more of him.

5. I wanted at least a look or two between Sirius and Remus. Come on, that ship is practically canon! Really. I wanted at least some more long lost friend hugs.

6.The Hagrid and Grawp storyline was blah. Cute part between Ron and Hermione, but a waste of time that could have been another Snape scene, or more of Sirius and Remus with Harry.

So, all in all it is probably my second favorite, after POA. It is less neat than GOF, but that is how it is supposed to be. Really liked the emotions, loved the relationship between Harry and Sirius, it was dead on.

So, book 7 in what, 10 days? I can't wait!

I need to schedule a date with myself to see the movie:)

I'm much, much, much more excited about the book release. I've been to the last four releases in four different cities in the US, but this time I've opted to just have it delivered on Saturday morning so I'm not tempted to be a bad parent and not sleep all night because I'm reading:p

Oh god, I was not remembering the book exactly (and I didn't want to right before seeing the movie because the last was was a huge disappointment after just reading the book), but now I'm remembering about Serius dying. Fuck.

I'm sorry Ron and especially Hermione isn't in as much of the book. Hermione is my favorite, followed closely by Serius. We're going tonight.

I'll go again with you, though, if you want to see it twice. :-)

I dig Luna (and Bellatrix) so much more in the movie than in the book; and I thought the Occlumency scenes were amazing - definitely my favorite part. I'd be more excited about the book release if the books weren't *twenty-five* dollars or if I had reserved a library copy early enough to get one of the first ones...as it is, I'll be waiting a couple of weeks to read it.
