I'm not a huge fan of baby shower games, but I thought the one where they hide a bunch of small safety pins in a bowl of rice was interesting. (You blindfold the finder and they have to find as many as they can with a time limit. You would think it would be simple, but it's not.)
I also like this one, because it's evil: Have the guest of honor leave the room. Give each guest a piece of paper and a pencil and say, "Now, pay attention to the mother-to-be."
The expectant mom comes in carrying a tray filled with baby items (sippy cup, pacifier, diaper, and so on). She walks around with the tray, giving everyone a few moments to look, and then leaves the room.
You then begin to ask questions of the guests – not about what was on the tray, but about the mother-to-be! For example: Is she wearing nail polish? Is she wearing open-toed shoes? What kind of earrings does she have on? What color is her dress?
Everyone will flip when they realize they were paying attention to the tray instead of the expecting mom. She returns after everyone has written down their answers. It's fun for her to see how many guests noticed details about her!
And this one is amusing: Secretly, while the mom-to-be is opening her gifts, have someone jot down a bunch of the things she says as she's exclaiming over the items (like "Oh, it's adorable!" "Green is such a great color!" "I'll definitely get a lot of use out of this! It's so little and sweet!").
After all the gifts have been opened, announce that it's a little-known fact that the things a pregnant woman says as she's opening baby gifts are the very same things she said when the baby was conceived. Then read back the quotes. :D
My favorites were really dumb. Like blindfolding people and making them take turns feeding each other baby food with a timer and seeing whose jar was emptiest, and holding a bowl on their blindfolded head while a bowl of cotton balls rests in their lap, and attempting to scoop as many as possible into the bowl in three tries.
Hey, they're fun :p
My nana always put little plastic clothes pins on everyone and they'd lose one anytime anyone caught them saying the word, "baby." Whoever had the most at the end won a (stupid) prize.
I played baby shower pictionary at the baby shower I had for my friend--get a list of words having to do with babies or pregnancy and put them in a bowl. Each person except the guests of honor takes turns drawing a word on a big drawing pad while the guests of honor guess. That worked well for us because my friend loves pictionary.
These were already mentioned, but: The "baby" game (everyone gets a clothespin and loses it if they say "baby") is always a big hit and everyone gets super competitive. I expected the competitiveness from the kids, but at my sister-in-law's co-ed shower, it was the adult males from the softball team who were the worst about it, trying to trick everyone else into saying baby. Also, the safety pins in rice game.
We've also done: baby food tasting (have to guess the flavor), candy guessing (melted/melty chocolate candy in a diaper, have to guess what type of candy is in each diaper), using streamer or toilet paper to try and guess how much will be needed to go around momma-to-be's belly, having to dress a doll blindfolded, word games like word scrambles or once we did "name the kids in this famous family" and had to name all the kids from like The Brady Bunch and Rugrats and Full House.
